Creighton Prep Named a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education
One of Only 50 Non-Public Schools to Receive the Honor
On September 24, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education announced that Creighton Prep was one of 317 public and 50 non-public schools designated a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School. Prep was honored in the Exemplary High Performing category for academic performance.
“This is exceptional recognition of the outstanding education we provide at Prep and the key role it plays in our formative process,” said President John Naatz. “I congratulate our Head of School Jim Bopp, his faculty leadership team and our dedicated teachers, present and past, who have exceeded our expectations for delivering a compelling curriculum.”
Prep educates 1,000 young men from more than 70 different Omaha area schools in an intellectually rigorous environment steeped in Catholic values and Jesuit principles of service and justice. With a commitment to educating the whole student, faculty and staff provide personalized attention, helping students develop their talents for collaboration, creativity, creative thinking, and innovation.
“Being named a 2020 Blue Ribbon School is the result of a lot of hard work by students inspired to excel beyond what they thought was possible,” said Jim Bopp. “We provide a well-rounded college-prep education where they enjoy a wide range of AP and college credit courses, consistently qualify as National Merit Scholars, and where nearly one in five recent graduates earned full-tuition scholarships.”
A virtual awards ceremony for all of the 2020 National Blue Ribbon Schools will be held in November.
