Creighton Prep recently welcomed 15 rising 6th graders and their families to the Loyola Scholars Class of 2021. The new scholars join the rising 7th and 8th grade scholars to reach the program’s capacity of 45.
During the Loyola Scholars Summer Institute in June, scholars focus on academics, leadership building Ignatian spirituality and fun activities at Prep. Classes include English language arts, science, math, art, and innovation technology in the ToMorrow Labs. On Friday afternoons, the scholars have educational field trips, many at the companies and workplaces of Prep alumni.
Loyola Scholars is a year-round, three-year academic and leadership achievement program serving middle school 6th-to-8th-grade males in the Omaha metro area who are academically talented, have leadership potential and whose households have significant financial need. By nurturing gifts of the mind and spirit, Loyola Scholars strives to form young men of faith, scholarship, leadership and service, ready for a college preparatory education.
