Congratulations to the members of the Architecture Club on the honors they received at UNO on Monday, April 16 for their work on a Holy Family Shrine Retreat Center project that was reviewed in a competition sponsored by the Society of American Military Engineers Student Mentoring Program.
The team earned five gold medals in the categories of Technology, Research, Sustainability, Team Work and Presentation as well as three silver medals in the categories of Innovation, Applied Sciences and Paper. In addition, they received an Award of Distinction and a $500 prize. Members of the team included juniors Joe Brennan and Max Cipolla, and seniors Mitch Dowd, Phil Krause, Jack Mowat and Anthony Wynegar.
The challenge to design a Holy Family Shrine Retreat Center was presented to the Architecture Club by Holy Family Shrine architect Jim Dennell ’75.
