On Saturday, December 16, Operation Others volunteers delivered food bags to 1,208 materially-poor families in our community from a warehouse at 1441 N. 11 Street in Omaha. The food was distributed in 35 metro area ZIP codes, and each bag contained more than 20 food items and a handmade Christmas card. This was the 51st consecutive annual delivery in the program's history.
A joyful group of students from all eight Omaha Catholic high schools, alumni, parents, former Operation Others Core Team members, friends, and others helped set-up, package, and deliver the provisions. Another generous group of individuals and local businesses donated money, time and resources to make this effort successful.
"We would like to thank all of the students, parents, faculty and staff members, alumni, benefactors, and friends who gave of their time, talents, and treasure to help those in our community who are sometimes forgotten, neglected, and left alone," said Operation Others program moderator Jerry Kinney.
