More on Approaching Exams and the End of the Semester

With semester exams approaching, this weekend is a good time to ask your son about his plans for test preparation. Recall that exams are on a special schedule with two exams given each day from December 18-20. The standard dress code is in effect, but no lunches are served on exam days.

Please note that, as mentioned in the Student-Parent Handbook, parents and students should not arrange early vacations, trips or make requests that would necessitate missing [exam] days. This policy may seem harsh in light of the many reasons people would like or need to have these few extra days. Giving exams early (or late) compromises the integrity of each final exam, and crafting and administering alternate exams takes additional time for each teacher and may limit, for example, availability and assistance for other students who need extra help. We do make exceptions to our policy but try to limit these to medical or family crisis reasons.

Click here to view the semester exam schedule. Exam schedules for each day may be viewed by clicking on the tabs at the bottom. Students should be careful not to confuse their regular classroom from the exam room. Most students are familiar with this process, but freshman may need a little assistance. Toward that end, community period moderators will review this process with their students. The exam schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, December 18
8:00-9:00 a.m.Social Studies
9:15-10:15 a.m.Math
10:30-11:30 a.m.Conflict Exams

Wednesday, December 19
8:00-9:00 a.m.Science
9:15-10:15 a.m.English
10:30-11:30 a.m.Conflict Exams

Thursday, December 20
8:00-9:00 a.m.World Language
9:15-10:15 a.m.Theology
10:30-11:30 a.m.Conflict Exams

Exams given in class: Physical Education, Fine Arts, Design Technology, Composition, College Composition, and Social Studies electives
