Dear Prep Students and Parents:
Our time in Level 3 is proceeding as planned and there are no significant changes to report this week. We ended last week with 17 positive cases and we have 4 new ones so far this week. There are 109 people in quarantine. All faculty and staff who have tested positive or been a close contact will have completed their quarantines by the end of the week.
At this time, we expect to return to Level 2 - Hybrid on Monday, November 30, barring any new directives from the governor or the health department. Unless we run into another staffing issue, we will likely remain in Level 2 through the end of the semester. We will continue to monitor circumstances closely and provide everyone with a definitive plan for our last three weeks of the semester next Tuesday, November 24.
Much of our success in keeping coronavirus from spreading within the school depends on decisions made outside of school. Please be sure to wear a mask when you are with others and avoid the 3 C's: closed spaces, crowded places, and close contacts. Over Thanksgiving break, all of us will have to make some sacrifices to minimize contact with those outside of our immediate households. Our public health experts and state officials have conveyed in no uncertain terms that these preventative measures are necessary to save lives, help our hospitals, and preserve in-person school as we move into the winter months.
Thank you all for doing your part during these trying times.
AMDG,
Jim Bopp
Head of School
