Dear Parents of Seniors,
As we wind down the last days of your son's Prep career, I want to share a few special things we're planning to celebrate our seniors given the difficult situation they are in.
First, I could use your help as we create a slideshow tribute to our Class of 2020. A couple of weeks ago, I sent an email to seniors asking them to answer a few quick questions about their future plans and favorite Prep experience and submit a photo.
The goal is to include every senior and as of today we still need about half of the seniors to respond. Thank you to those students who have already submitted their information. Please encourage your senior to complete this form by Monday, April 27 at midnight. (Only he can access this form.) If he doesn't have a photo he likes we can use his yearbook photo. We will share the slideshow with seniors and their families on Sunday, May 17 to commemorate the day they would have graduated.
Also, next week we're planning to surprise the seniors with special yard signs on the morning of their last day of classes, May 1. You just might see a Prep faculty, staff, or coach placing the sign in your yard the night before.
And lastly, Campus Ministry has planned a Senior Emmaus Retreat from May 5-8 ending with a Senior Emmaus Retreat Mass on Friday, May 8 at 7 p.m. We hope to offer them a virtual space to gather together for companionship and to grow in their faith while sending them onto their post-Prep journeys with hope and joy. Information will be sent to seniors and their families soon.
Please don't tell your son about either of these small ways we plan to recognize him and his classmates. We still have faith that we will have an in-person commencement for our seniors, and look forward to the day we can make that announcement.
Thank you for the pleasure of getting to know your son over the last four years.
Gratefully yours,
Jim Bopp
