Dear Prep Parents,
The Nebraska Department of Education has advised all schools to establish plans to educate students via distance learning for the remainder of this school year. Therefore, we will plan on maintaining our current weekly online learning schedule through Friday, May 1 for seniors and Friday, May 15 for freshmen, sophomores and juniors.
We will not be implementing a special finals week schedule for either group. Any summative assessments teachers assign to students will take place within the regularly scheduled periods. Aside from taking time off for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Monday, there will be no other designated days off and the calendar will be consistent with the weekly online learning schedule from April 15 onward. The online school calendar has been updated to reflect these changes.
In our efforts to continue to provide your sons with the best online education and formation possible, we are asking you to please fill out this brief form. Parents with multiple sons at Prep can fill it out once for each son or consolidate their responses in a single form–whichever they prefer. This form is intended to help us with our big picture institutional initiatives and is therefore anonymous. As was mentioned in Friday's Parent Pulse, staff members will be calling each family individually to see if there are any specific needs we can assist with. As always, you are encouraged to reach out directly to teachers, counselors, or the administration with any questions or concerns.
Finally, a word to senior parents. We want to make it clear that although it is likely we will be engaged in online learning through the middle of May, we are still committed to having an in-person graduation ceremony at Creighton Prep as soon as circumstances and state officials allow.
Thank you for your continued partnership,
Mr. Jim Bopp
Head of School
