Dear Parents,
Over the weekend, you likely heard about the plans school districts are making to prepare for the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). I would like to outline our preparations with you, starting with the preventive measures that are already in place. Our main priority is to make sure we provide a safe and healthy environment for our students and faculty. Additionally, we want to make sure that our students can effectively continue their education in the event that we are not able to hold classes at school.
Right now, we are focusing on prevention. This includes reminding students about the importance of washing hands, coughing into elbows, and staying home when they are ill. We will also continue to promote the frequent use of hand sanitizers that can easily be found in every classroom and throughout the entire building. Additionally, It is our standard practice to clean bathrooms, classrooms, and other common spaces each day using hospital-grade disinfectants, and we will be redoubling those efforts as long as this current health risk exists.
If the health department orders that schools remain closed for an extended time, we will initiate plans for online learning across our entire curriculum. We have an array of powerful technologies at our disposal. Combining those tools with our faculty's ingenuity will allow us to continue to advance our students through the curriculum even if we are not able to gather in the same building for several days or weeks.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep everyone updated with any significant developments via email. I appreciate your cooperation as we do our best to maintain a safe and healthy school environment.
With gratitude,

Jim Bopp
