Students in Catholic Social Teaching are required to complete 20 hours of service over the course of the semester. All service hours need to be completed at the same site. There are opportunities thsi semester to work with kids (Field Club tutoring and NorthStar tutoring), to work with the elderly (Bingo at Rose Blumkin), to work with those experiencing poverty (First Presbyterian Food Pantry), or to work with poeple with disabilities (Camp Munroe). You may sign up for one of the following options:
Tutoring with Completely Kids at Field Club Elementary:
Prep students help with the Completely Kids after school program on Mondays through Thursdays from 4:20-6pm. To complete 20 hours, you need to make 12 visits to Field Club. You may choose to complete your hours during the 3rd quarter or 4th quarter. All Field Club Volunteers are required to attend an orientation on Friday, January 20th during your lunch period in the Campus Ministry Office.

Tutoring at NorthStar After School Program:
NorthStar Foundation is an after school program for boys, grades 4-10 in North Omaha. Prep volunteers will act as reading volunteers or homework helpers from 4-6pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. CST students will need to commit to 10 volunteer days in order to complete their 20 hour commitment.

Camp Munroe is a recreational therapy program for kids with disabilities. Volunteers at Camp Munroe will do a variety of recreational activities such as games, swimming, arts and crafts, etc. Prep will volunteer with kids on six Saturday mornings from 9am until noon. Volunteers also need to attend a 2 hour orientation at Camp Munroe prior to volunteering. Volunteers can sign up to volunteer during either the third or fourth quarter.

Bingo at the Rose Blumkin Home
On Wednesday nights, Prep students help with bingo at the Rose Blumkin Home from 6:45pm until 8:15pm. The first night of bingo will be Wednesday, January 25th. On the first night of bingo, volunteers will arrive at 6:15pm for an orientation. Volunteers will need to volunteer 13 nights over the course of the semester (plus the orientation) to complete 20 hours of service.

Thursday Afternoon Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church runs a food pantry every Thursday afternoon. Prep students volunteer from 3:30-5:30pm, helping to re-stock shelves, distribute food, etc. Students in CST who volunteer at this site will need to make 10 visits to complete their 20 hours of service.
