Chapter of the National Honor society

The National Honor Society is dedicated to combining academic excellence and service in order to instill ethical leadership in the students of today, the leaders of tomorrow.

Eligibility for National Honor Society is open to members of the Junior and Senior class who have demonstrated good character and scholarship and who show evidence of leadership skills and a concern for social justice through service.

Criteria for invitation and acceptance:

  • 3.7 GPA at the end of first semester of Junior year
  • Less than 20 demerits and/or 6 jugs accumulated during the first semester of Junior or Senior year
  • No reports of academic dishonesty all four years
  • Approval of the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal for Academics
  • A committee reviews applications for evidence of leadership and service

NHS members serve the school as ambassadors and workers for Mini-School Night, Open House, BASH, Mission Week, and NHS Day of Service.  We also organize two fund raisers each year with proceeds going to a charity chosen by the executive board.

Moderators are Mrs. Beth Ginger and Mrs. Mary Nowaczyk
