12th Annual Jayson Jewell Memorial Baseball Event Held at Jurgensen Park
Posted 07/14/2017 02:53PM

Creighton Prep would like to thank everyone who attended the 12th Annual Jayson Jewell Memorial Baseball Event at Jurgensen Park on Wednesday, evening July 12. On that night, the Prep varsity baseball team, team alumni and fans remembered Jayson, a member of the class of 2005 and an exceptional baseball player, who passed all too soon in early 2006.

The evening began with a complimentary dinner then a ceremony on the field to honor the graduating seniors on the baseball team and their parents. This was followed by the presentation of the 2017 Jayson M. Jewell Memorial Award to the senior who exemplifies the great qualities that Jayson brought to the game. This year’s recipient was pitcher Josh Culliver ‘17.

After ceremonial first pitches, the Prep Alumni Long Ball Competition took place, where the 21 team alumni noted below (plus Coach Pat Mooney) took turns trying their best to hit baseballs out of the park.
