Creighton Prep Wins World-Herald Class A Boys Sports Championship for the 2016-2017 School Year
Posted 07/05/2017 12:46PM

Congratulations to all the student athletes, coaches and those who supported them in helping Creighton Prep win the World-Herald Class A Boys Sports Championship for the 2016-2017 school year. Key to receiving the honor were state championships in tennis, swimming, soccer, baseball and track as well as great seasons from the cross country, football, basketball and golf teams.

This is the ninth time in the past ten years that Prep has won the award. In 2015, Prep tied Millard West for the World-Herald Class A All-Sports Championship that tallies a combined total from performances in boys and girls sports.

The award caps a great year in Prep athletics, including outstanding results for the club sports. Among the club sports, the powerlifting team won a state title (the program's eighth straight), the trapshooting team finished third in the state and the lacrosse team finished in the semifinals of the Nebraska/Iowa Lacrosse Championships held at Carmen & Don Leahy Stadium on the Prep campus.
