Creighton Prep would like to extend its sincere thanks to the attendees, auction donors, advertisers, underwriting and corporate table sponsors, and the volunteers who made Havana BASH 2017, Celebrate the Experience such a memorable event on Saturday, April 22.
The monies raised during BASH are a key component in the school’s ability to keep tuition affordable for everyone as well as to provide more than $2 million in financial assistance annually to approximately 45 percent of Prep students.
Over 650 guests gathered in the Heider Center for this 47th annual fundraiser where over 325 silent auction items and 32 live auction items were up for bid. Director of Events Amy Knight said the successful event raised over $850,000.
Highlights of Havana BASH 2017, Celebrate the Experience included remarks by Prep senior Shannon Brewer '17 who told the story of his success from Jesuit Academy through Prep. Then guests raised their paddles to donate to the school and bid on live auction items that included a diving trip to Dunbar Rock (on one of the Bay Islands off Honduras), golf for four in Palm Beach, Florida, a Holy Family Shrine Mass and dinner with three Fr. Toms (Fr. Tom Neitzke, S.J. as well as Fr. Tom Merkel, S.J. and Fr. Tom Fangman ‘80), and a trip for six by private jet to the 2017 Nebraska vs. Minnesota football game. The auction concluded just before 10 p.m.
