Class Procedures

-Jaworski: Classroom days are Monday and Wednesday. Activity days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

-Macke: Classroom days are Tuesday and Thursday. Activity days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

-Students must wear PE uniforms on activity days. Failure to do so will result in:

     -1 demerit first offense

     -2 demerits second offense

     -3 demerits third offense

     -5 demerits fourth offense

-Line up in squads 5 minutes after the bell rings. Warm up and roll will take place at this time. If you are late, bring your demerit card.

-Students will be given 10 minutes at the end of each activity to change clothes. Showers are optional.

-Students must remain in the locker room area until the bell rings.

-Classroom days begin immediately after the bell rings. If you are late, place your demerit card on the teacher's desk. If you have a valid reason for tardiness, please see your teacher after class.

-If you have questions over anything please feel free to contact Mr. Macke or Mr. Jaworski. Arrangements can be made for individual help.

First Quarter Classroom Topics

-Wellness Unit

     Dimensions of wellness, lifestyle risk factors, making lifestyle changes, environmental health issues, stress and stress management,

     exercise, nutrition, weight control, aging, longevity

Second Quarter Classroom Topics

-Substance Abuse/ Automobile Safety

     Anabolic steroids/supplements (In conjunction with weight training)

     Tobacco/alcohol

     Avoiding automobile collisions

Grading

-There will be approximately 3-4 written tests per quarter. Skills tests will be given periodically throughout the year. Each test will be averaged equally.

-There will a comprehensive final exam at the end of each semester.

-No extra credit will be provided. Do not create a situation for yourself in which you need extra credit to pass the class.

-Each student will be given a numerical grade as well as an effort grade.

Miscellaneous

-All students should be respectful to those around them. Any behavior seen as disrespectful or disruptive to the class will be dealt with by the teacher

-The rules and regulations in the Student Handbook will be enforced.

-Students need to be responsible and lock up valuables in their lockers on activity days.

-Illness we be allowed as an excused absence with a parent's note.
