Directed Studies

Directed Studies is a study skills class designed to help students make the transition from middle school to the rigors of Creighton Prep.

Course objectives are:

to expand vocabulary
to improve reading comprehension
to develop consistent study skills
to develop test taking strategies
to improve critical thinking skills
to improve organizational skills
to provide a tutored study environment

Directed Studies students are then placed in a smaller English class with the same instructor so that individual writing and grammar skills can be reinforced. This class also provides an environment for the practice and implementation of various learning strategies.
